On March 17, 2021, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China plans to add 204 chemical substances to the "Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China" as the "Measures for the Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances (Order No. 12 of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the P. R. China)" (referred to as "Order No. 12") existing chemical substances. After these substances are announced later, relevant manufacturers and importers no longer need to set them as new chemical substances in accordance with Order 12.

OCI reminds companies that export chemicals to China to focus on the new announcement of the "Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China", so as to avoid setting existing substances as new substances, thereby increasing corporate compliance costs.
